Photographer

To me being a photographer has been something in the making for the past 20 years. There has been no profound moment through it all. Just a drive and a passion. Photography has been a means for me to create and explore.

Through out the years I’ve always made it a habit of having a camera with me. These cameras haven’t always been the top of the line models. It hasn’t always been about the equipment. As a photographer its about our relation to our immediate surroundings. Being present. Observant. Sensitive. A camera is secondary for a photographer because we must make a connection first. The camera has been there all along, quietly keeping me curious.

I’m often asked what I photograph.  In the past I’d usually hesitate taking a moment or two finding the right answer.
But now I respond and say, “I photograph LIFE”.
The act of being alive, seeing and sharing that experience has always been somewhat of a duty and to be able to make a living doing this has been nothing short of amazing.

This image was taken a handful of years ago on the coast of California.
I found myself crawling into this cave where I stumbled upon the most beautiful scene I think I’d ever come across.
It felt as if I transported into a different world.

Here is to the next 20 years of being a photographer.
